One of the crafts I enjoy the most is cross stitch; I find the repetitive nature of cross stitch very calming and I like watching the image slowly appear. I have been working on this one as part of a series featuring Australian wildlife. While I have done a lot of different kinds of cross stitch (from table linens, to hand towels, to birth samplers) I especially love the silloutte look and the use of tone on tone in this one. I also like the rustic look I achieved using hessian fabric as my canvas.

This is lovely Cydni and just the sort of thing I want to try. I love the look of cross stitch but have never tried it as I don't know where to start, really. This makes me think it's time I found out.
Cross stitch really is easy, lots of great patterns out there and surprisingly simple to create your own:) Enjoy!
